Cycling,
be it cross-country or on road, is a popular activity in the Dordogne.
The gentle hills and patchwork countryside dotted with picturesque
villages, farms and châteaux make cycling an excellent way of
exploring the country. The country roads have little traffic even
in the summer months, ensuring your riding is safe, without stress
and healthy for all.
A number of cycle circuits have been adapted and traced from Hameau
du Perigord to suit different cycling activities and expectations.
Cross-country and track: As the ancient bridleways and footpaths
of the Dordogne are increasingly being reclaimed and restored, so
is the activity of cross-country or all-terrain cycling becoming
easier and more pleasurable.
Road and track: From short and gentle ‘family’ rides
to serious amateur runs of up to 80-100Km, a number of circuits
have been elaborated from the hamlet. Of varying distances and difficulty
but always orientated towards natural beauty spots with the interest
of the cycling visitor in mind.
